Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe that there is only one week left. Like they say, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” Others say, “Time is fun when you’re having flies,” if you’re a frog. Anyway, our theme this week has been, “Season Review” as we’ve gone back through the year and reminisced.
For language arts this week we worked in our Passports and on reading some of our favorite songs from the pocket chart. It’s been fun for me to see the growth and confidence in reading as we reviewed.
In math the children worked on mental math story problem and acted out people story problems. We also continued working on our calendar activities.
Please make special note of the important dates above. On Tuesday at the picnic we will celebrate the summer birthdays for the whole kindergarten. We still need some sandwiches and summer birthday people can send in cupcakes if they wish to contribute. Oliver Ottmar and Jayden Wang are the summer birthday representatives from our class. We will have the celebration at about 11:30. Please plan to take your child home from the picnic. Daycare children will be walked back to daycare by us.
On Friday we have a Minumum Day (8:45-12:10) and no lunch is needed. Our Spring Dance will take place on the lower intermediated playground and families are invited. Each grade level will perform a dance. Kindergarten will perform King Tut and Zoo Phonics Aerobic song, “Get the Money”. Please come at 10:00 and plan to stay through 12:10 if you can. We will have some culminating activities back in the classroom after the dance.
We won’t send home any books next week and would like to get all remaining books back. Thank you for all your help and support this year. It’s been great to work with all your children. Yes, even the ones who are challenging. I’ve learned a lot
Thanks for Reading,
MR. GR Williams
